This recipe is Jill's creation.
I had to pry it from her, so it could use some revision. I'll have pictures
eventually.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch broccoli
- 2 carrots
- 3 celery stalks
- 1/2 cup peas
- 2 Tbs diced jalapenos
- 1 can "Vegetable Steaks" - wheat gluten in a can
- 1 stk margarine
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
- 1/2 cup unbleached flour
- 3 cups veggie broth
- 1 tsp (to taste) garlic powder (not garlic salt)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbs soy sauce
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning
- 2 cups pasta the tube kind usually
Instructions
The Roux
- Melt the margarine in a sauce pan on low heat.
- Add 1/2 cup flour. Whisk till bubbly.
- Add boiling vegetable broth. Whisk till thickens.
- Add salt, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, poultry seasoning.
- Add nutritional yeast flakes lastly.
The Chunkies
- Dice up the canned wheat gluten place in skillet with some of the sauce from the can.
- Slice some celery, carrots, broccoli add to skillet.
Pasta
- Boil some pasta add frozen peas.
Serve
- Add everything to the skillet, mix, and serve.
